Cancellation Policy

As a sole practitioner, 100% of my income comes from my valued patients.
When you cancel on short notice, my livelihood is jeopardized. You're also taking an appointment away from someone else who could benefit from my care.
I have a strict 24-hour cancellation policy. If you cancel or reschedule your appointment with less than 24 hours' notice, for any reason, the card on file will be charged for the full treatment cost. If you’re 30 minutes late, your appointment will be cancelled.
No, really, ANY REASON: Illness (Covid positive etc),  injury, emergency, baby delivery etc .

The lone exception: If you fill your spot, I'll waive the fee.
Think of your appointment like a concert ticket. If you can’t make it, you either send a friend  or absorb the cost.
It's not a punishment; it's protection of my most valuable resource—my time.

Policies

My relationship with my patients is built on a foundation of mutual trust and respect.
As a condition of working with me, all patients agree to the policies below. If you don't support any of my policies, please refrain from scheduling an appointment with me. Thank you!

Privacy Policy

Prior to your first appointment, you will be required to complete a confidential health history form online. This form must be updated once a year or any time there are significant changes to your health history (ex. surgery, major illness).
The information in your file can only be released with your consent or as required by law. In order to best serve you, I may discuss your case with the other healthcare providers involved in your care.

 

Appointment Times

Please note that the time you have booked is the length of your entire appointment, not just the hands -on treatment time.
At your first visit, I conduct a thorough intake interview where I cover your health history and your goals. I provide a                   

detailed description of my treatment plan so there are never any surprises during your acupuncture treatment. I obtain

verbal and written consent.  I do my best to maximize your hands-on time, but please be aware that it is rarely the full l

ength of the appointment time. You should expect up to 20 minutes for the intake interview at your first visit.
 

Refusal of Service

For safety purposes, I reserve the right to refuse or discontinue treatment at any time. Reasons may include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • intoxication

  • derogatory or bigoted comments

  • sexual or romantic advances

  • illness or infectious conditions 

  • contagious or unidentified skin conditions (ex. rashes, warts, mysterious bug bites)

If you develop a skin condition, please clear it with your doctor before coming for treatment.  If you exhibit any of the aforementioned conditions or behaviours, you'll be denied treatment and charged for the appointment.
